Mrs. Carol Torello

Hello!  I am Carol Torello, the Counselor for The Academy and Collaborative Special Education Teacher. This is my third year in the Counseling position.  Prior to coming to Madison City Schools, I was the Counselor at McDonnell Elementary School in Huntsville City Schools, and for twenty three years prior to that I was a Speech/Language Pathologist in Decatur City Schools, Madison County Schools and Madison City Schools.  I felt being lead to the counseling field, knowing I could make a difference in the lives of students.  When I had my interview for this position, I knew in my heart that this is where I am suppose to be.  It is so wonderful to work among such caring, positive and professional people here at James Clemens.  The Acaademy faculty is prepared and progressive in their service.  I am honored to be among them.

My educational training starts with Decatur City Schools, where I went to school from first grade through twelveth grade.  From there I went to Auburn University for my Bachelors degree.  Three years later I attended Alabama A & M for a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.  Six years later at Alabama A & M, I earned a Master's degree in Supervision and Administration.  Waiting about ten years, I felt called to the Counseling field and got my last Master's degree in School Counseling at The University of West Alabama at Livingston, AL.  I have enjoyed all of the classes I have taken and feel very qualified in any of these areas.

I have been married for 35 years and have 3 grown children.  I enjoy teaching piano after school and playing at my church and for other community functions.  I love getting the community involved in school based activities.  When outside the school setting, I love going to the movies, eating out with friends, biking, kayacking and bird watching/feeding.  My home pet is Holly, our 7 year King Charles Cavalier.
