Mrs. Lori Williams
English Language Arts Teacher
Education
Mrs. Williams holds a Master of Learning, Design, and Technology, as well as a Master of Secondary English Language Arts, from The University of West Alabama.
Experience
After completing her internship in an 8th-grade classroom at Discovery Middle School in 2022, Mrs. Williams began her teaching career in the 6th-grade English Language Arts department at DMS. Mrs. Williams has over ten years of experience working with students. She started her teaching journey by supporting struggling readers and spent several years as an Adult Education Instructor at Calhoun Community College, where she helped students pass the GED exam. Additionally, Mrs. Williams has taken on the role of the DMS Competition Cheer Coach, where she is eager to lead and inspire the team to new heights — Go Panthers!
Biography
Mrs. Williams moved to Alabama from Greenville, South Carolina in 2015. She is currently in her fourth year teaching 6th grade at Discovery Middle School. She has a stepson in 9th grade at Bob Jones High School, a son who recently graduated from UAH with a degree in Computer Science, and a daughter studying Marketing at The University of Alabama. Mrs. Williams and her husband share their home with a dog and two cats. In their free time, they enjoy relaxing by the pool and taking trips to Disney World whenever they can.
