Hello! I am Amy Ramsdell, and I am delighted to join the Journey Middle School team as a CTE/STEM instructor. I have been a resident of Madison County for most of my life, and my husband, my sister, and both of my children are proud Bob Jones Patriots! I hold two Bachelors' degrees in Psychology and Biology from Athens State. I have a Master's degree in Science from Northeastern University in Oklahoma and a STEM Leadership certificate from Columbia University Teachers College and NASA. Recently, I completed my certification for a National Certificate in STEM Teaching. Being a lifelong learner is important to me! This will be my 18th year teaching middle school. I have primarily taught Life Science and, to a lesser extent, Physical Science, Forensics, Environmental Science, Health, STEM, and Zoology. I have also coached Greenpower for three years, and I am proud to continue doing so here at JMS. When I'm not at work, you'll find me spending time with my husband, Marc. We enjoy cooking, riding motorcycles, working out, watching movies, and playing with our three cats (Pickles, Potato, and Kevin). We have two adult sons. Joshua is a historian and author, and Zachary is a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Joshua and I have picked up the hobby of aquascaping. You will have to ask me about it!
