Dr. Kerry Donaldson

Bio

Dr. Kerry Donalson Jr. is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and has been happily married to Jacquelynn Donaldson since 2007. He played college basketball at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and at Athens State University. Kerry currently lives in Athens, Alabama, and has been in education since 2004. Before administration, he began his career at Athens Middle School as a Health and Physical Education teacher, where he coached basketball and football. He also was an adjunct instructor for six years at Athens State University. Dr. Kerry Donaldson Jr. began his career at Madison City Schools as a James Clemens High School Jet during the 2018-2019 school year and was the RISE Academy principal from 2021 - 2023, located inside James Clemens. He is now the Principal of James Clemens High School.

Mrs. Jennifer Flanagan

Educational Experience:

Jennifer Flanagan received a Bachelors Degree in Secondary English Language Arts Education from The University of Alabama in 2010 and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014.  Mrs. Flanagan began her career with Madison City Schools in 2010 as an English teacher, coach, and sponsor of many activities. In her role as Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at James Clemens High School, her focus remains with students and ensuring that each JC Jet will take flight on the journey to success.

Biography:

Mrs. Flanagan was born in Huntsville, Alabama and has called Madison "home" her entire life. She is a proud graduate of Madison City Schools. After graduating with honors from The University of Alabama, she moved back home and right away began her passion for working with students. Jennifer and her husband Michael Flanagan have 2 amazing and energetic children, McKinley and Brayden.

Mr. Will Jarrett

Mr. Jarrett was born and raised in Athens, AL. After graduating from East Limestone High School, he attended the University of Alabama where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education. He spent several years in the Tuscaloosa County School System as a history teacher, math teacher, and a coach of multiple sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and golf. Mr. Jarrett received his Master’s Degree in school counseling from the University of West Alabama and spent 4 years as a school counselor at Duncanville Middle School in Tuscaloosa. After receiving his Instructional Leadership certification from UWA, Mr. Jarrett had the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal and athletics director at Ardmore High School. Mr. Jarrett joined the James Clemens administration team in the summer of 2024 and is excited to be a part of the amazing administration and staff at JC.

 

Mr. Jarrett has been happily married to his wife, Brooke, for 16 years. They have two wonderful children, Braxton (11) in 6th grade and Ella Michael (6) in 1st grade. Both kids keep them super busy with baseball, flag football, softball, gymnastics, and basketball!

Mr. Eric McCants

Mr. McCants is from Frisco City, Al and a 2004 honors graduate of Frisco City High School. He graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and received his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership; Administration and Supervision from the University of South Alabama. Mr. McCants began his educational career in 2010 with Mobile County Schools as a teacher/coach and later moved to the Madison County School System where he also served as a teacher/coach; along with being the county's first Behavior Interventionist. Mr. McCants married his wife Marcia in December 2010. They have two beautiful children, Zaiden and Zacarri. Mr. McCants is extremely excited about being part of Madison City Schools. His focus is to ensure that each student is given the opportunity to be successful and he loves serving at James Clemens High School.

Mrs. Allison Miller

Mrs. Miller was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in the suburb of Pinson.  After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Auburn University, she moved to the Madison area and has called this area home ever since.  Mrs. Miller earned her Master's Degree and Educational Specialist Degrees in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama Birmingham.  She has been married to her husband, Scott, since July 2001.  They have been blessed with two beautiful girls, Ansley (2007) and Chloe (2009).  Mrs. Miller began her career with Madison City Schools in 2000 as a math teacher at Liberty Middle School.  She served as the Instructional Partner at Discovery Middle School during the 2013-2014 school year.  She began her flight as Assistant Principal of Instruction during the 2014-2015 school year.

Mr. Layne Rinks

Mr. Rinks earned a BA in Geography from the University of Alabama in 2008. Following earning his teaching certification from the University of North Alabama in 2010, he began his teaching career at Hewitt-Trussville Middle school as a social studies teacher and coached football, wrestling, and softball. In 2012, he worked at Chelsea High School as a history teacher, where he also served as an assistant football, head wrestling, and head golf coach. In 2013, he came to James Clemens High School as a social science teacher and was able to coach football, wrestling, and golf. Mr. Rinks received a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from UNA in 2015. In 2017, Mr. Rinks transitioned to Florence City Schools and became assistant principal of Florence High School. Mr. Rinks became the Director for Career and Technical Education for Florence City Schools in 2021. Mr. Rinks currently serves as the athletic director for James Clemens High School and is committed to ensuring all student-athletes experience success in life. 

Mr. Rinks has been married to his wife, Katie, since 2009, and together they have 3 children: William, Harper, and Hallie. In his spare time, Mr. Rinks enjoys traveling with his family in their camper, playing golf, hunting, and gossiping about college football.
