Mr. Evan Curtis
Band
Education
Mr. Curtis attended the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Instrumental Music Education.
Experience
Mr. Curtis began his teaching career in 2017 as the Band Director for Holly Pond Middle/High School, teaching grades 6-12. At Holly Pond, Mr. Curtis taught the Beginner Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band programs. After 3 years at Holly Pond, he transitioned to West Morgan Middle and High School, teaching grades 6-12 for 3 years. At West Morgan, Mr. Curtis taught the Beginner Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Marching Band programs.
Mr. Curtis is currently in his 2nd year at Liberty Middle School. He teaches the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Beginner Percussion, Beginner Woodwinds, and Beginner Brass classes.
Biography
Mr. Curtis is a native of Florence, AL. He currently resides in Huntsville, AL with his 3-year-old Goldendoodle, Archie. In his spare time, Mr. Curtis enjoys going hiking with his dog, spending time with his family and friends and performing! Mr. Curtis has performed with the Shoals Symphony Orchestra and currently is a horn player with Alabama Winds. Mr. Curtis is a member of the Alabama Education Association (AEA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA).
Mr. Curtis is thrilled to be a Liberty Lion and is looking forward to an outstanding year!
