Hi there! Welcome to Digital Communications, Creative Writing 1, and Introduction to Public Speaking! My name is Shannon Rainey, and I am so excited to be your teacher this term! I grew up here in Madison, and as a former Liberty Lion myself, I'm thrilled to be returning to the school to guide the next generation. I've wanted to be an English teacher since I was a teenager and I've loved writing as long as I could hold a pencil. I believe language is one of our most powerful tools as humans, and I hope to help students grow in their confidence and expression through writing and speaking. Every student has a voice that deserves to be heard. 

After graduating from James Clemens, I attended Berry College where I earned my Bachelor's in Creative Writing with a minor in Communications. I am excited to begin my teaching career at a school that once nourished me. 

I have two sweet cats at home and love to spend my free time reading, sewing, knitting, or painting. Creativity is very important to me, and I look forward to encouraging my students to find their own ways to express themselves this year! Go Lions!
