Hello, and welcome to English Language Arts! My name is Leah Rise, and I’m honored to be part of the Liberty Middle School community this year. I’m passionate about helping students find confidence in their voices—whether through reading, writing, or class discussion—and I’m excited to make this a meaningful and memorable year of growth.

Before joining Madison City Schools, I spent five years teaching through a STEM-based educational program, where I developed a love for teaching lessons that blend creativity, critical thinking, and real-world learning. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Secondary Education (English Language Arts) with an expected graduation in 2027.

Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mom of four beautiful children, three of whom attend Madison City Schools. We love cheering each other on at local games, spending time outdoors, and exploring all the wonderful things our community has to offer.

I believe that literature gives us the tools to understand ourselves and the world around us. In my classroom, students can expect an engaging, inclusive environment where curiosity is encouraged and every voice matters. I look forward to partnering with you and your student for a fantastic year ahead!
